Mapping your Tourism Experience Route – Overview

Using the form provided below, your team will first identify a title for your Tourism Experience Route in British Columbia. It can be any type of themed route you want so be creative! I have had students develop Women Rock Climbing Routes. Another group identified a Film Tourism Route for the Kamloops region. Your Route can be anywhere in British Columbia so explore the province. It can also be a driving route, a walking route, or a paddling/boating route for example. Second, once you have identified your route you will then provide a rationale for this type of experience, explaining why you have chosen this route. What is it that makes it unique to British Columbia’s tourism experience. Third, you will then identify who the target markets are for this route thinking about geographic, demographic and psychographic aspects of today’s traveler. You must provide a detailed explanation of where and who these types of travellers are that might be interested in your Tourism Experience Route! Fourth you will then identify four experiences for your Route. Each student in the team will add one map marker for each experience so the entire route will have four points on your map. You will add a description of your marker, the location of your marker, and finally a picture of your experience. Your map marker includes a featured image and link to a full WordPress post with more information if needed. Good luck!

How it Works – Routes are colour-coded!

As each team completes the form below, your route markers will have their own distinctive colour. Other teams will have a different colour for their markers so you can tell the difference between each team’s route. As each team completes their route, more coloured markers will appear on the map. You are able to click to tap on the map marker to see a featured image and also view more details using the “View More Information” link provided.

You’ll find that each of your team members will need to complete one of the four content markers on the map where your selected location data will be displayed and a web form where you will enter your data below.
